We believe you will find this content very useful in your search for the best real estate agent for your transaction!

It began in 2009
We purchased our first home in 2009 and the transaction was an absolute disaster! We felt like we were on our own through the entire transaction without any guidance at all. Our agent was not helpful during the negotiation process and might as well not even of been there. It was a rapidly changing real estate market, and there was zero advice given.
Once the contract was accepted, our agent informed us that the bank would help us through the process and asked that we call a title company in a couple of weeks to set up our own closing. The agent did not even discuss a home inspection with us! Looking back, that could have saved us thousands of dollars! The home was covered in mold and had major water issues.
The closing day finally arrived. We entered the closing room at the title company and began signing papers. About 5 minutes into the process an old familiar face entered the room. Our real estate agent, there to pick up his check! The first time we had spoken to him since the contract was signed.
We felt that local home buyers and sellers deserved BETTER. So they set out to make sure that a better option was available! We wanted to ensure that when future individuals are hoping to find the best real estate agent in Farmington MO, they would have a much better option, and a much, much better experience!

How To Choose Your Real Estate Agent

I’m not trying to say that all other real estate agents in Farmington MO are bad, but they do all have their own way of doing things. Did you know some Farmington real estate agents just work the job as a hobby, or to give them something to do during retirement? It is true!
It is very important to interview your real estate agent before hiring them to represent you. There are many questions that you should ask. Keep in mind that there are many more factors to consider when you are trying to choose between top agents to hire.
Many will just try to sell you on how long they have been in the business or the total number of transactions they have done. If they are trying to handle too many transactions, can they really sell your house with the level of dedication that you deserve?
Be sure to ask for reviews from past clients. Don’t just take the agent’s word for it, read what others have had to say.

Selling Real Estate in Farmington MO?
All real estate agents ARE NOT listing agents.
This doesn’t mean they cannot list real estate for sale, it just means that real estate listings are not their specialty. This is a big thing to keep in mind when you are selling a home, land, commercial property or any other type of real estate.
Any agent can list your house onto the MLS, stick a real estate agency sign in the yard, and then sit back and wait for the phone to ring. But, that is not fair to the seller. This is why it is important when selecting a real estate agent, to not just hire your friend or family member that is an agent. Due your due diligence, and choose the agent that is going to best represent you, and the real estate that you are selling.
When you are picking out a Farmington REALTOR, schedule interviews. Invite each agent to come and tour the property. During this time, the agent should be noting all of the details of the property, and taking notes. Next, the agent should sit down with you, go over the market data, and provide you with their listing presentation. This will outline the real estate agent’s experience, marketing strategies, and even reviews from past clients. Most importantly, this is the best time for you to ask the questions that you have about the home selling process.
If you are selling your home in Farmington, be sure to ask the agent how they plan to market your home. Will they be taking professional photos of your property, or just using their outdated cell phone? Are they experienced digital media marketers? How active are they on social media, and how big is their social following? No, it isn’t a popularity contest, it may not seem like social media matters, but social media is the new newspaper. That is where people go to find their classified ads and their news.
The times of posting a home for sale in the classified section of the local newspaper doesn’t work as it did many years ago. Make sure that your agent is up-to-date on real estate marketing strategies!
So How Is The Jennings Team Different?
We like to think of ourselves as a marketing agency that also sells homes. Today, agents must be more than just agents. They must also be top experts in marketing.
Agents must now wear more hats than one if they wish to excel at being listing agents. Agents must also be proficient in print marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), photography, videography, and much more.
This is where The Jennings Team sets themselves apart from the rest of the pack. We have spent countless hours studying, practicing, and perfecting these skills to make sure that we can provide the highest level of skill possible to our clients.

Best Real Estate Agents For Farmington Home Buyers
There is nothing better than handing over a set of keys to homeowners after they finished signing the paperwork at closing. Whether it is a first-time homebuyer, or empty nesters downsizing homes, this is always a rewarding experience.
The most important part, however, is making sure that the home buyers make it to the closing table happily, after a smooth transaction. The home buying process can be a very frustrating one. This is where having the right agents will make all the difference. There are many different parts of the home buying process.
- Initial consultation
- Mortgage Pre-Qualification
- Home Tours
- Purchase Offer
- Negotiations
- Counter-Offers
- Inspections
- Negotiating Repairs
- Title Research
- Final Walk-Through
- Closing Day
This is only an overview of the total steps, there are many smaller steps involved within each of the steps listed above. The best home buyer agents are very proficient in real estate knowledge and negotiations, as well as master coordinators. If all of the steps are not handled properly, and in a timely manner, many problems can arise during the home buying process making it a miserable process.
The Jennings Team also stands out when it comes to working with home buyers. Be sure to check out our 8 Step Home Buying Process to learn how we can better represent you!
Does Your Real Estate Agent Truly Know The Local Market?
When considering which real estate agent to choose, whether it is for buying or selling, be sure to pick the one that knows the local market. Any agent can tell you that it is a seller’s or buyer’s market, but do they really know the current market status?
This is very important to consider when picking your agent. Can your agent properly advise you one listing and selling prices if they don’t pay attention to what is really going on in the market

Should You Choose A Real Estate Agent or Realtor In Farmington?
We are PROUD to call ourselves Realtors!
All real estate agents are Realtors, but not all Realtors are real estate agents. The terms “real estate agent” and “Realtor” are regularly used interchangeably, however, there is quite a difference. Those who do not know the difference may even use the term “Realtor” because it is easier than saying “real estate agent,” but there is much more to it than that.
Real estate agents have the choice to become a Realtor by joining the NAR or National Association of Realtors, the largest trade association in the United States.
To make a long explanation short, A Realtor is a real estate agent that has chosen to join the Nation Association of Realtors and has chosen to be held to a higher standard.
To join the NAR, Realtors must agree to abide by the National Association of Realtors’ Code of Ethics and Professional Standards. The Code of Ethics is what sets “Realtors” apart from “Real Estate Agents.”
What is the Realtor Code of Ethic's?
The code consists of 17 Articles, 71 supporting Standards of Practice, and 131 explanatory case interpretations.
It was founded on the principles of the “Golden Rule” and requires that Realtors cooperate with each other to further the best interests of consumers and their clients.
The code requires Realtors to respect the exclusive relationships of other Realtors with their clients. Also known as, “Going behind the sign,” Realtors may not try to steal clients from other Realtors, or interfere with them in any way.
When choosing between top real estate agents to buy real estate, or to get your real estate SOLD, be sure that you are choosing a Realtor. You will then know that you are selecting an agent that holds themselves, and their professional relationships, to a higher standard.
